Scallops Adobo

Scallops Adobo

Adobo is a traditional Filipino dish that is delicious and simple to cook. I've cooked pork and chicken adobo but cooking scallops adobo is a "first" for me.

Cooking Scallops Adobo just took me 10 minutes to cook. It's so easy I promise! :)

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup- Sheared Scallops
2 Cloves- Garlic
1/2 Small Size- Onion
2 Tbsp- Cooking Oil
2 Tbsp- Vinegar
2 Tbsp- Soy Sauce
1 Tbsp- Oyster Sauce
1/3 Cup- Water
1/3 Cup- Chicken Broth
2 Pcs- Bay Leaves
Pinch of Ground Black Pepper
Spring Onion (garnish)

Cooking Procedure:
  1. Saute garlic and onion in heated pan with cooking oil.
  2. Add the sheared scallops, stir.
  3. Add water and let it simmer for 1 minute.
  4. Add chicken broth, stir and let it boil for 2 minutes.
  5. Add soy sauce and vinegar (don't stir) and let it simmer for another minute.
  6. Add bay leaves and ground black pepper to taste.
  7. Remove from heat and add spring onion for garnish.

Chop Suey

Chop Suey

Today, the recipe that I'm going to share is Chop Suey! :)

Chop Suey is definitely a favorite dish for me. It can be cooked with meat or just mixed vegetables. It's a Chinese dish but is prominent part of Filipino cuisine.

Ingredients:

5 Gloves- Minced Garlic
1 Medium Size- Minced Onion
2 Tbsp- Cooking Oil
250 Grams- Pork Liver (or Chicken Liver)
250 Grams- Pork Liempo (or Chicken Fillet)
250 Grams- Button Mushroom
1 Large Can- Young Corn
1 Medium Size- Carrot
250 Grams- String Beans
250 Grams- Cauliflower
1 Medium Size- Chayote (Sayote)
1 Medium Size- Cabbage
15 Pcs- Hard Boiled Quail Eggs
70 Grams- Knorr Cream of Mushroom Soup (diluted in 1 1/2 cups of water)

Salt and pepper to taste


Cooking Procedure:
  1. Bring to boil the pork and pork liver for 5 minutes and cut into desired thickness and size.
  2. In a heated pan, saute minced garlic and onion in cooking oil.
  3. Add the pork liver and pork and stir for 3mins and the mushroom for another 2mins.
  4. Add the vegetables, mixed and let it cook for 3 to 5mins. (Do not overcooked the veggies)
  5. Add the diluted cream of mushroom soup. Add salt and pepper. Mixed well.
  6. Remove from heat and add the quail eggs.

Beef with Broccoli and Mushroom

Beef with Broccoli and Mushroom

This is the first time for me to cook Beef with Broccoli and Mushroom.Cooking this dish is like cooking "Karne Prita" (one of my faves!) but for me Beef with Broccoli and Mushroom is a lot easier and faster. I cooked this dish for my husband's family who visited me last week. So here's my recipe and I hope you'll enjoy cooking like me.

Ingredients:
1 Kilo- Beef (sirloin) cut into strips
3 Cups- Broccoli
1 Cup- Button Mushroom Pieces and Stems
2 Tbsp- Vegetable or Cooking Oil
5 Gloves- Minced Garlic 
2 Tbsp- Cornstarch (diluted in a cup of water)

*Sauce

2 Cups- Beef Broth
1/4 Cup- Soy Sauce
2 Tbsp- Oyster Sauce

Water and ice for Blanch

*Marinade

1/4 Cup- Soy Sauce
2 Tbsp- Oyster Sauce
Dash of Salt, pepper and seasoning to taste

Cooking Procedure:
  1. Combine all the marinade ingredients overnight.
  2. Combine the ingredients for the sauce in a separate bowl. Make sure to stir well 
  3. In a heated frying pan, pour-in vegetable or cooking oil and add beef strips.
  4. Cooking the beef until the color turns to golden brown.
  5. Add the minced garlic and cook for 3 minutes. Stir.
  6. Add the sauce and bring to a boil.
  7. Add the mushroom and bring to boil for a minute.
  8. In a separate pot, pour the water and add broccoli for a minute in boiling water.
  9. Remove the broccoli from the cooking pot and soak in iced water for 10 seconds and then drain the excess water.
  10. Add the broccoli and cook for another minute.
  11. Stir-in the cornstarch and cook until the sauce thickens.
  12. Remove the pan from heat and serve!
